Suryakumar Yadav Successfully Undergoes Sports Hernia Surgery
Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has successfully undergone surgery to repair a sports hernia. The procedure took place in Munich, Germany, and the cricketer is now focused on recovery.
Yadav, 34, last represented India in the T20I series against England in February. He shared an update on his progress via social media, expressing optimism about returning to the field.
In his social media post, Suryakumar Yadav confirmed the surgery details, stating that he underwent a procedure for a sports hernia located in his lower right abdomen. He added, "Grateful to share that after a smooth surgery, I'm already on the road to recovery. Can't wait to be back."
The surgery follows Suryakumar Yadav's strong showing in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Playing for the Mumbai Indians, he amassed 717 runs in 16 innings, finishing as the tournament's second-highest run-scorer.
His most recent international appearance was in the five-match T20I series against England, which concluded in early February. The timing of his surgery and subsequent recovery overlaps with India's current five-match Test series against England.
