Esha Gupta Sets the Record Straight on Hardik Pandya Dating Rumors
Actress Esha Gupta has finally addressed the long-standing rumors surrounding her alleged relationship with Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gupta clarified the nature of their connection, revealing that their interaction was brief and never evolved into a serious relationship.
Gupta stated that they were in contact for a few months, but compatibility issues and poor timing prevented their association from developing further. "Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don't think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months," Gupta explained.
She elaborated on the short duration of their acquaintance, emphasizing that they only met "once or twice." According to Gupta, their connection remained at the "maybe it will happen, maybe it won't" stage, ultimately ending before it could be classified as a formal dating relationship. "It ended before we even reached the dating stage. So it wasn't dating-dating," she clarified.
Gupta acknowledged the potential that their relationship held but noted that circumstances led to its quick conclusion. "Maybe it could have happened," she said, adding that "things fizzled out quickly."
The actress stressed that the end of their communication was amicable and without any complications. "There was no drama or bitterness," she stated. "It just wasn't meant to be."
Gupta also addressed Pandya's controversial appearance on Koffee With Karan in 2019, confirming that their communication had already ceased before the incident. "That part didn't affect me, because we had already stopped talking by then," she explained.
The actress further revealed her decision to refrain from adding to the criticism surrounding Pandya's appearance on the show. "They were already going through enough. What good would it do if I jumped in with more criticism?" she stated.
Hardik Pandya is currently not part of the Indian cricket team participating in the five-match Test tour of England. His next expected appearance for the Indian team is against Bangladesh in August.
