The latest ICC Test rankings showcase significant movement following compelling performances in both Test and T20I cricket. Rishabh Pant of India and Ben Duckett of England are the major headliners, achieving new career-high rankings after remarkable innings in the first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Headingley.
Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah
Rishabh Pant has surged to seventh place in the ICC Test batting rankings thanks to his pair of centuries at Headingley. The dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman scored 134 and 118, joining Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower (2001) as only the second wicketkeeper in Test history to achieve centuries in both innings of a Test match. Pant also becomes the first Indian wicket-keeper batter to reach 800 rating points in Test history.
Joe Root maintains his position as the world's No. 1 Test batter, with Harry Brook of England closely following in second place. India’s captain, Shubman Gill, has climbed five places to 20th after his superb century in the first innings.
ICC Batting Rankings
Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier fast bowler, continues to dominate as the No. 1 Test bowler. His recent five-wicket haul at Headingley reinforces his command with the red ball. England’s Ben Stokes has risen three places to claim the No. 5 spot in the Test all-rounder rankings—his highest position in recent months—after contributing with both bat and ball.
ICC Bowling Rankings
The T20I rankings have also seen significant changes following the tri-series in Glasgow, which featured the Netherlands, Nepal, and Scotland. Michael Levitt, the Dutch batter, has jumped 16 places to 14th after a series of consistent performances. Scotland’s Brandon McMullen also made an impression, climbing 20 spots to joint 38th.
ICC All Rounder Rankings
The ICC rankings remain a crucial indicator of individual talent, with each run and wicket contributing to the ever-changing hierarchy of cricket.
