ChatGPT Suffers Global Outage: Service Restored
ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot, experienced a global outage, leaving many users unable to access the service. Reports flooded the Downdetector website, indicating widespread issues with accessing OpenAI's chatbot.
According to user reports, approximately 91% faced problems while trying to use ChatGPT. 7% of users reported website access failures, while the remaining users were unable to log into their accounts.
Users turned to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration and report the service interruption.
OpenAI Addresses the Issue
Acknowledging the disruption, OpenAI's official status page confirmed the outage, citing "increased latency and errors affecting both ChatGPT and APIs."
The good news is that the service has since been restored. According to the official OpenAI Status page, the latency issue has been resolved, and "Performance is now back to normal."
The TOI Tech team verified the restoration by successfully accessing ChatGPT both on the web and via the mobile app, confirming that it is now functioning without any apparent problems.
